Wedding at Davenport House

On April 13, 2013, I again had the opportunity to officiate at the historic Davenport House. The house was built in the Federalist style by Isaiah Davenport. In 1955 the house was saved from demolition and helped spur the preservation of many historic structures in Savannah. Today, it is an active place. Davenport House Website
The courtyard of the Davenport house is a beautiful space for weddings.

On this beautiful April day I was officiating at the wedding of Jacalyn and Scott. This lovely couple had an intimate gathering of family and friends. Deirdre, and her team from Statement Weddings saw to every detail. Jacalyn and Scott also used Diane Dodd as their photographer. She is a wonderful photographer, who captured great memories on film, like this lighthearted moment in the ceremony.

Jacalyn and Scott used a very beautiful version of some contemporary vows.

(Man to Woman)
I, Scott, promise to honor and love you, Jacalyn,
To remain honest and faithful to you,
To comfort you when you are sad,
To share your joy when you are happy,
To support you,
To grow in love with you,
And to appreciate you,
This day and each day, as long as we both shall live.

To comfort you when you are sad,
To share your joy when you are happy,

Thank you very much, Jacalyn and Scott, for letting me share this special moment with both of you. May God bless you now and always!
