Shayda Marries Lockett….

On September 15, 2012 I had the privilege to officiate at the wedding of Shayda Yavari and Lockett Plundt.
This wedding took place at the historic Ford Plantation in Richmond Hill.

The couple chose to have their wedding under one of the many majestic oaks which grace the front lawn of Henry Ford’s Mansion. It was a great reminder to everyone that great things often start with simple beginnings.

For me, one of the most memorable aspects of their wedding is that they chose to incorporate an ancient Persian custom into the ceremony.

Persian Honey Ceremony

There is an ancient Persian custom where the newly married bride and groom feed each other honey. This is done to symbolically demonstrate that from the beginning each spouse will bring sweetness and love to this marriage.

((Shayda and Lockett dip pinkie fingers into honey and feed each other))

Thank you, Shayda and Lockett, for making such a strong impression on me. Congratulations!
