Does Engagement Chicken Work?

The story has almost become legendary. Many years ago a fashion editor at Glamour Magazine gave a simple chicken recipe to her assistant, who cooked it for her boyfriend. He loved it, had seconds, and shortly thereafter proposed marriage. The magazine told the story and published the recipe,
which spawned many more proposals.

Glamour Magazine claims that 70 couples have married due to this dish. The recipe has been featured on The Today Show, Martha Stewart, and Barefoot Contessa.

  1. Gee, if that’s all it took to get ’em to pop the question, I bet the demand for chicken will be going up real soon!

    • That is so true. It almost makes you think that the way to a person’s heart IS through their stomach!

  2. I think it all depends on whether the person likes chicken or not. 🙂
And thank you for liking my post 🙂

    • So true. It helps if the person likes chicken. It helps even more if the person likes the one who made the chicken! 🙂

  3. Haha, well you know what they say.. “the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach.” lol, I don’t believe the chicken has any special powers. Maybe it’s just so delicious that it increases favour towards the cook, hehe. Hmm, that’s a funny story though. Thanks for stopping by and liking my post.
