Anticipating St. Patrick’s Day

The city of Savannah is eagerly anticipating St. Patrick’s Day. This year’s mild weather and the fact that it falls on a Saturday has the city anticipating record crowds. If the one million visitor estimate is correct, this year’s celebration will be the largest anywhere – topping even New York City. Visitors come from all over the world, even from Ireland.

This year we will have the 188th annual parade. This Savannah tradition has survived world wars, depressions, a civil war, yellow fever epidemics, and all the ups and downs of history.

It is even a popular day for weddings!

  1. St. Patricks day is my favourite day of the year, after Christmas and my birthday. DRINK YOUR GUINESS GUYS, AND BE MERRY!

    • This year’s St. Patrick’s Day was the biggest one ever with over one million visitors. If you missed it, plan to come next year. Cheers!
