Beautiful sunrise wedding at Tybee's North Beach
Sunrise… Sunset…Sunrise…
The sun came up this morning at 6:38 a.m.
This morning I had the privilege of officiating at the beautiful sunrise wedding of Anne and Charlie Rettiger. They made the trip toSavannahfromAtlantaseveral days ago. Originally, the wedding was set for sunrise on Wednesday (7/27/11). We cancelled that arrangement because of the rain. They called me about the possibility of having a sunset ceremony on Wednesday, but that was not possible because of my other commitments. We stayed with our original “Plan B” of having the wedding at sunrise on Thursday, July 28, 2011. “What if it’s pouring rain?” the bride nervously asked. “It won’t be raining. It will be a beautiful morning,” I assured her. I have never had a course in meteorology. I just sometimes have a good gut feeling about sunrise weather on the beach.
This morning was beautiful with clear blue skies!
It was a wonderful way to start the day for me. It was a beautiful wedding. One of the most memorable aspects of this wedding was the gentle presence of their eleven year old “child” named “Georgia.” She sat perfectly attentive throughout the entire wedding, and she even posed for the pictures. It’s almost as if she has been waiting for this day.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Anne Rettiger!
Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!
Rev Joe,
Thank you so much for making our special day so amazing! The sunrise service was so beautiful and the fact you were there to officiate us made it such an incredible experience. I loved beginning our future together at the ocean. Thank you again so much I will always remember this day.
take care, Anne Rettiger
Dear Anne, Charlie, and Georgia:
Thank you so much for letting me be a part of it. Georgia, especially, was one of the best behaved “flower girls” ever!
Blessings!
Rev. Joe
